Listed satellite and computer technology firm Comdek is set to complete its second acquisition since listing in October last year.
On Monday, the West Perth-based firm announced that it had signed a Memorandum Of Understanding to acquire Hobart-based satellite firm eSat Communications for an undisclosed sum.
In March this year Comdek acquired Vianet, paying $385,500 and a convertible note for the Perth-based firm, with the acquisition conditional on Vianet reaching certain targets.
eSat recently was granted approval for the Federal Government's Higher Bandwidth Incentive Scheme (HiBIS), which was introduced to assist regional Australia’s access broadband Internet.
Comdek listed on the Australian Stock Exchange in October last year. Comdek managing director Haydn Collins told WA Business News that the eSat deal was part of an ongoing plan to expand its satellite business.
“We see this as the perfect business model to continue Comdek’s delivery of a national satellate data and voice service and the extension of our core business of data reticulation throughout Australia.”
