Personal credit cards now on offer

STATEWEST Credit Society has become the first credit union in WA to launch a product designed to give members more spending control.

StateWest CEO Greg Wall said the new product, MyCard, addressed an important omission in the credit union’s range.

“Until now, members had to go to a bank for a credit card,” Mr Wall said.

“Now they can come to us.

“Along with four theme designs, MyCard has a picture card option that allows members to put their favourite photo on their credit card.

Mr Wall said the card also had a spread repayment option – not currently available on other Australian credit cards.

The option allows repayments on some purchases of items such as whitegoods or furniture to be spread over a twelve to thirty-six month period.
