PMA takes on Xstrata

Precious Metals Australia has launched legal action against Swiss miner, Xstrata, seeking damages as well as the reopening of the Windimurra vanadium mine near Mt Magnet.

Xstrata announced the closure of Windimurra permanently in May citing doubt over the long-term viability of vanadium prices.

PMA holds a 15 per cent royalty interest in Windimurra and alleges that Xstrata breached the agreement when it first suspended the project last year and then eventually closed it this year.
