THE StateWest Achievement Awards are on again.
Nominations for expressions of interest have already opened and will close on October 10.
Prizes will be awarded on December 10 at a black tie function in the gardens of the Perth Mint.
The awards are open to State, Federal and local government employees – including those working for government corporate entities such as Australia Post, Telstra, Western Power and the Water Corporation.
Winners in each category receive a 12-month subscription to WA Business News and a framed award certificate.
Those categories are employees in a non-managerial position, employees in a managerial or professional position, groups or a number of colleagues involved in a project and marketing excellence.

StateWest Credit Society State manager retail Tony Romano said it was time to take the awards, which had been running for more than a decade, to another level.
“In the past we’ve had 30 to 35 nominations. This year we’re hoping for a lot more,” he said.
Mr Romano said the awards were unique in Western Australia because they recognised public sector employees.
“Some of the work that gets done by these employees is amazing but it never gets noticed by the public. These awards have been able to bring it to the surface and give these people some recognition,” he said.
Last year the Department of Agriculture’s Chris Newell won the award for an employee working in a non-managerial position.
The employees working in a managerial or professional position category was won by Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital’s Harriet Chan and Metropolitan Cemeteries Board staffer Peter Deague, while the Water and Rivers Commission’s Dr Luke Pen won special merit awards.
The Legal Aid Dispute Resolution Program won the group category and the WA Police Service’s Women’s Advisory Network was granted special merit.
Healthway’s QUIT Motorplex sponsorship won the Marketing category while the Department of Health’s Go for 2&5 campaign received special merit.
