Craig Shaw Chief Executive, Broome International Airport

Craig is the Broome International Airport Chief Executive, having commenced in this role in September 2022.

In past roles, Craig has supported the privatization of Australian airports including Cairns, Mackay and Sunshine Coast Airports. He was also a member of the executive team for seven years at Queensland Airports Ltd, who manage Gold Coast, Townsville, Mt Isa and Longreach Airports

In his role as Vice President with Swissport Asia Pacific and Head of Lounges, he oversaw the introduction of the Aspire Airport Lounge business in Australia and Japan, establishing lounges including the multi-award winning Perth Airport’s Terminal 1 Aspire Lounge, along with lounges in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne International Terminals and Narita Airport.

Craig’s most recent achievement is establishing international flights connecting Singapore and Broome via Broome International Airport. This was delivered with the support of the State Government through Tourism WA and with Federal Government approval under the Department’s new and emerging ports model for Border services.

Craig holds a Bachelor of Business and Masters in Professional Accounting and is currently completing the AICD Directors Program. In support of his role in the Broome community, Craig is a Committee Member with The Broome Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Board Member of Australia’s North West Regional Tourism Organization, which represents and the Kimberley and Pilbara Regions.

Having worked in, or for many Airports across Australia, and most recently overseeing a large regional airport, Craig understands the challenges presented particularly for emerging international ports in regional locations seeking to open gateways to their communities.
