Responsible for leading Fortescue’s mining division, Fortescue Metals Chief Executive Dino Otranto is a decisionmaker with substantial reach and influence.

Since August 2023, Mr Otranto has led Fortescue through a period of rapid transformation. Under his leadership, the company is producing the iron ore crucial for future infrastructure while also implementing large-scale decarbonisation initiatives. Building on its robust foundation in Western Australia, Fortescue is also expanding internationally with its first iron ore mine in Gabon.

Mr Otranto was previously Chief Operating Officer of Fortescue’s iron ore division and served as Chief Operating Officer at Vale Base Metals, overseeing their nickel and copper businesses in North America, Europe, and Asia.
