ASX-listed Canada-focused gold explorer, Ardiden, has sniffed out encouraging high-grade gold hits from a diamond drill program designed to probe deeper into the Kasagiminnis deposit at its Pickle Lake gold project in north-west Ontario. According to the Perth-based company, drilling results continue to demonstrate extensions to gold mineralisation and gold grades strengthening at depth.

ASX-listed Australian Bauxite has taken a significant step towards the eventual shipping of “metallurgical-grade” bauxite having lodged a mining lease application for its Sunrise bauxite project 115km south-west of the Port of Bundaberg in Queensland. The application covers the proposed $15 million development of Sunrise that incorporates the high-quality gibbsite-rich trihydrate Binjour bauxite deposit.

Wiluna Mining Corporation has posted a bumper resource upgrade with the company’s ongoing drilling campaign having now defined a colossal global resource of more than 8 million ounces of gold. This wealth of mineralisation extends over the entire Wiluna field, from the Matilda deposits in the south through to Galaxy in the north and also hosts a higher-grade core of mineralisation that tips the scales at an impressive 4.24 million ounces, averaging 4.89 g/t gold.

Terrain Minerals has the ball rolling again with a rig on the ground drilling at its Wild-viper project in Western Australia. The company has locked in plans for more than 2,500m of aircore at the gold project, which is designed to follow up on results from its August 2020 drilling program and to test several new zones of mineralisation.

Oakdale Resources has revealed some tantalising results from its maiden drill program in Nevada with the first diamond drill hole at its Lambarson Canyon gold project intersecting primary epithermal gold mineralisation below 243.54m down-hole.

Barton Gold has upped the ante in South Australia as it charges towards a listing on the ASX, this week appointing both brokers and advisors to oversee its Initial Public Offering. The company is also moving its gold focused exploration program across the Gawler Craton into high gear, working across its three project areas in SA and expanding its resource inventory as it tightens up development plans for 2021.

King River Resources is vectoring in on high-grade gold prospects in the Northern Territory after uncovering buried ironstone host bodies in two drill holes on its ground. The holding, east of Tennant Creek, has produced anomalous assay results pointing to iron oxide-copper-gold indicators. The discoveries are coincident with gravity and magnetic anomalies which typically signal copper-gold-rich mineralisation in the region.

Great Southern Mining is eyeing an RC drilling program next year over newly-applied-for tenements near Laverton in WA immediately adjacent to its Cox’s Find gold project. It says the 47.5sqkm tenement package covers more than 12km of “highly prospective” identifiable mineralised trends hosting both the Garden Well and Rosemont gold deposits currently owned and operated by gold producer Regis Resources.

Estrella Resources looks to have hit paydirt at the T5 nickel discovery near Carr Boyd Rocks in WA posting an assay intercept of 2.5m at an eye-catching 3.66 per cent nickel. This strike confirms the presence of high-grade nickel at the prospect and clears the way for an extended program across the emerging discovery north of Kalgoorlie.

Barton Gold has locked away a permit-wide heritage agreement allowing the company to chase after gold in its ‘game-changing’ channel prospect, covering a 3.5-kilometre strike length of the Tarcoola Ranges in SA. The mega-rich Gawler Craton mineral field contains numerous geological, geophysical and geochemical targets with multiple historical, high-grade gold workings including Barton’s own Perseverance open pit.

Neometals has successfully demonstrated its proprietary vanadium recovery flowsheet in a continuous mini-pilot test program, yielding exceptional product purity better than 99.5 per cent vanadium oxide and vanadium recoveries of more than 75 per cent. The company said its ‘leach residence’ times were 50 per cent below its scoping study design parameters, providing a positive future impact on capital costs.

Budding gold producer, ASX-listed Horizon Minerals, reported further high-grade gold hits at the Crake and Coote projects within its 100 per cent-owned Binduli project, located west of Kalgoorlie. The strikes included a shallow high-grade hit at Crake of 3m at 14.85 g/t gold from only 9m below surface, within a thick 12m interval going 6.68 g/t gold from just 6m.
