Steven Noske is an oil and gas executive. He was APA Group general manager WA transmissions from October 2015 to February 2016, leaving the company at around the time he faced ASIC charges regarding insider trading. Prior to that he was CEO of ASX-listed Bass Strait Oil from January 2014 to February 2015, managing director of ASX-listed WHL Energy from 2011 to 2013. He was also a director of Exoma Energy from November 2007 to November 2008. His career included senior management roles with BHPB, TRU Energy and Mitsui E&P Australia Pty Ltd. He was initially employed with Woodside Energy for approximately 6 years in various engineering and operational roles. He has also been employed with Shell International (1990-1993) in Brunei, BHP Petroleum (1993- 1999) and consulted to Mitsui E&P Australia (2004-2011).
Mr Noske established BNA Petroleum Asset Management Pty Ltd (BNA) with his partners in 2002 to offer management services in the areas of petroleum commercialisation, specialising in the commercialisation of gas opportunities worldwide. In February 2016 he was charged in relation to the purchase of 750,000 shares in Brisbane-based gas producer WestSide Corporation Limited via a trading account in February 2012. WestSide has since delisted. ASIC alleged that Mr Noske traded whilst in possession of inside information relating to a proposed takeover transaction. It is alleged that as a result of the trades, Mr Noske made a notional profit of approximately $182,430. In April of 2017, he was found guilty and convicted on one count of insider trading.
