Rick Allert AO is a Chartered Accountant with many years of experience in the corporate sector. He is a director of Genesee and Wyoming Inc and its Australian subsidiary, Genesee and Wyoming Australia; chair of Voyages Indigenous Tourism Australia, Kakadu Tourism (GLC), Kakadu Tourism (GCH), AMP Superannuation and NM Superannuation. His previous appointments included being chair of AXA Asia Pacific Holdings, Tourism Australia, Coles Myer and Coles Group, Southcorp, AustralAsia Railway Corporation, Voyages Hotels and Resorts, the Aboriginal Foundation of South Australia, and director of AMP and AMP Bank. In 2011, Mr Allert was the recipient of the Ernst & Young Champion of Entrepreneurship Award, Central Region, for his long record of outstanding entrepreneurial achievement and contribution to the community. He was awarded a member of the Order of Australia (1997) particularly for his work with the National Heart Foundation; a Centenary Medal (2003) for service to rail, business and taxation; and an officer of the Order of Australia (2008) for leadership in corporate social responsibility.
