Nathan Hepple

Nathan Hepple co-founded HBA Legal because he aspired to “find a way to give clients a new law firm experience while getting the best results possible”. In November 2020, HBA group was acquired by international insurance claims management company Crawford & Company and Mr Hepple became the director of strategy & growth (Asia Pacific) for Crawford Legal Services.

Mr Hepple began his career on the east coast of Australia in 1998, moving west to Perth to join Sparke Helmore, Minter Ellison and DibbsBarker. He was made a partner at 31 and is one of a few lawyers in Australia known widely as an expert in Commonwealth workers’ compensation law. Mr Hepple's primary focus and experience lies in insurance-related litigation where he has spent a decade representing major insurers, self-insurers and large Australian companies with significant deductibles. He’s also widely experienced across retail, logistics, hotels, mining and banking.
