Michael Anderson

Michael Anderson has over 30 years of mining industry experience, largely in southern Africa and Australia.

His career commenced as a geologist with Anglo American, followed by roles in the metallurgical and engineering industries with Mintek, Bateman and Kellogg Brown & Root. Mr Anderson also held senior management positions including corporate development manager at Gallery Gold and managing director at Exco Resources where he oversaw the successful development of the White Dam Gold Project, and the sale of the company’s Cloncurry Copper Project to Xstrata.

Mr Anderson was managing director and chief executive of Forrestania Resources from March to November 2023. Prior to that, he was the managing director of Firefinch, director of major resource-focused asset management firm Taurus Funds Management for 9 years, and managing director of Exco Resources for over 5 years.

Dr Anderson holds a Bachelor of Science (1st Class Honours) in Mining Geology and a PhD in Mining Geology, both from the Royal School of Mines at Imperial College, University of London.
