Kyran O’Donnell was the Shadow Minister for Seniors & Ageing and Volunteering under Liza Harvey's Shadow Cabinet in 2019. Mr O'Donnell was the Liberal Party member for the WA Legislative Assembly of Kalgoorlie from 2017 until he lost his seat at the 2021 state elections.
He has lived in Kalgoorlie-Boulder for over 30 years and has raised his family there with each of their three children attending local schools. His eldest son is in the mining industry and lives in Kalgoorlie with his local-born wife Emma and three children of their own. Mr O'Donnell's youngest son, Taylor, also lives in Kalgoorlie and works in the recreation sector. Daughter Courtney is a senior associate solicitor.
Mr O'Donnell has been a police officer for 34 years and was awarded the ‘Goldfields Policeman of the Year’ award for his outstanding work in the community which included sustained engagement with the local aboriginal people.
