Kate Ben-Tovim
Kate Ben-Tovim is a curator, executive producer and cultural policy specialist. She has over 20 years of experience in the arts and has worked with artists, cultural institutions and governments in Indonesia, India, China, PNG, UK and Australia.
Ms Ben-Tovim is the founding director of consulting agency Turning World, with a client list spanning every level of Australian government and international events including the 2012 London Cultural Olympiad and the 2018 Commonwealth Games. She has played a key role in the establishment of numerous flagship cultural projects such as Asia TOPA which is a large-scale festival of contemporary Asian performance, was co-creative director of Australia’s largest cultural diplomacy initiative in India - Oz Fest India, Asia Pop Fest, was the first producer of The Black Arm Band, and has produced indigenous festivals and events in central and northern Australia.
Ms Ben-Tovim has won several awards including the Sidney Myer Creative Fellowship, Green Room Award for Curatorial Collaboration (Asia TOPA), DFAT Secretary's Citation (OzFest), and an Asialink Arts Management Residency (Indonesia). She is also the producer of multiple Helpmann Award winning productions, and is a regular public speaker nationally and internationally.
