Non-Executive Director / Mount Burgess Mining
Jacob Thamage is a mining engineer and a Motswana national.
In July 2021, Mr Thamage was appointed to the board of Mount Burgess (Botswana) and reappointed as chief executive of Botswana’s Diamond Hub. He became the international chair of the Kimberley Process in 2022.
Mr Thamage was previously the deputy permanent secretary to the Ministry of Minerals, Energy and Water Resources; and a coordinator of Botswana’s Diamond Hub where he coordinated the relocation of DeBeers diamond sales functions from London to Gaborone, Botswana.
