Govert van Ek

Govert van Ek has over 17 years of upstream oil & gas and related finance experience.

Mr van Ek has worked in upstream oil & gas companies and investment banks, focusing on upstream oil & gas transactions and lending. He has also worked on numerous upstream transactions in Europe, Asia and Australia.

Mr van Ek was chief executive of Spyker Energy, business development executive at Genting Oil, at ANZ Investment Bank in London and Sydney, and was head of upstream oil and as lending at BNP Paribas in Singapore where he focused on lending and corporate finance for junior oil companies in the Asia Pacific region. He started his career in 1996 at Shell International E&P as an operations engineer and also worked at Shell on oil & gas field development planning and economics.

Mr van Ek holds a Doctorate in Total Technology from The University of Manchester, and a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He is a member of the American Institute of Petroleum Negotiators, Society of Petroleum Engineers, and South East Asia Exploration Society.
