WA-owned and operated Grand Cinemas was originally formed as a family business in 1928, with 6 cinema outlets in Western Australia: Warwick, Bunbury, Currambine, Joondalup, Armadale and Como. It had three generations of the Stiles family controlling the business.
In 2022, Grand Cinemas went into administration and was forced to close its Joondalup and Armadale venues in late November due to difficulties recovering from pandemic closures and capacity limits. The remaining venues in Warwick Grove, Currambine Central and Bunbury cinemas were acquired by fellow movie exhibitor Hoyts.
