WESTERN Australian vessel operator Westsea Marine has been awarded a $100 million contract to supply vessels to support the construction at Chevron’s Gorgon liquefied natural gas project.
Under the contract, awarded by Gorgon contractor Saipem-Leighton Consortium, Westsea will supply 28 vessels, including work barges and tugboats, to assist in the construction of the 2.1-kilometre LNG jetty.
Westsea expects to start vessel deliveries early this year.
SLC has the contract to construct the LNG jetty, heavy lift facilities and tug pens at the Barrow Island site.
Westsea is already providing other marine equipment for preliminary work on the Gorgon project.
Established in 2002, Westsea provides offshore marine solutions to Australian clients with its fleet of ocean going towing tugs, anchor handlers and work barges.
