Energe Safety is prosecuting Western Power over the electrocution deaths of two children at Wyndham in 2003.
The prosecution is one of six separate charges against Western Power in relation to alleged failures to ensure service apparatus, such as service cables between the utility’s poles and customer’s premises, was installed and maintained in a safe condition.
In the Wyndham incident, two children died after touching the Western Power service aerial attachment.
Director of Energy Safety Albert Koenig said it would allege the aerial attachment was not maintained in a safe condition.
It is understood the two children, aged seven and eight, were trying to retrieve a frisbee from the roof of their house when they touched the aerial attachment.
The other charges relate to incidences that occurred in Port Hedland, Tuart Hill, Narrogin and East Victoria Park.
