WA techie drives remote business support

Perth-based Stephen O'Keefe has acquired his second Telstra Business Technology Centre in the state in an effort to bring IT and communications support to businesses in regional areas.  

The Telstra Business Technology Centre (TBTC) for Regional WA will join Mr O'Keefe’s existing support centre in Perth South and his separate Osborne Park-based IT support business, Cloud Connect.

The Telstra Corporation-franchised centres are designed to provide small and medium businesses with support to integrate technology solutions into their operations.

Mr O'Keefe says he feels well positioned to maximise the new territory both for Telstra and personally.  

"The acquisition is strategic as we currently specialise in remote communications including satellite, microwave, comms trailers, cellular rebroadcast and mining," he explained. 

"This coupled with Telstra's core products will be of specific value to clients in the Regional WA territory."

The new facility services roughly 34 per cent of Australia's landmass and approximately 3 per cent of its population.

Regional WA is the largest territory of the 28 in Telstra's TBTC programme.
