Western Australia-based firms spaceagency, Roxby Architects, Philip Stejskal Architecture and the Perth branch of Hassell have been shortlisted for the 2014 National Architecture Awards.
spaceagency raked in a total of three nominations, for its work at Fremantle small bar Bread in Common.
The firm has been shortlisted for the commercial architecture, heritage and interior architecture categories.
Roxby Architects was also shortlisted in the commercial category, for its Toyota WA head office in Kewdale, which won the top prize at the Australian Institute of Architects WA chapter awards.
In the residential category, Philip Stejskal Architecture was shortlisted for its Bellevue Terrace alterations and additions.
Finally, the Perth practice of HASSELL was shortlisted in the multi-residential category for its work at student accommodation project University Hall.
The projects were among 61 nationally that progressed to the final round of the awards, out of a total of 153 that were considered by the national jury.
Jury chair Paul Berkemeier said the process of selecting the shortlist was a challenging one.
“The projects that were eligible were of outstanding quality and we believe the resulting shortlist represents the best of the best,” Mr Berkemeier said.
