Valley about to spring to life

CORIN Lamont was awarded the Lew Whiteman Award at the recent 2002 Spring in the Valley launch. Corin was a foundation member of the Swan Valley Tourism Council and helped launch the first Spring in the Valley festival 15 years ago.

The award recognises the work of an individual to achieve long-term benefits in building and maintaining the unique character of the Swan Valley.

Friend’s Restaurant has been recognised by the American Wine Spectator Magazine for having one of the most outstanding restaurant wine lists in the world. Clyde and Lesley Bevan are no strangers to the Best of Award of Excellence, this award being their third in succession. Clyde says the awards help benchmark his restaurant with similar restaurants across the globe.

“We are a world-wide restaurant and we’re competing against the rest of the world. You may have a strong WA bias but you want to be competitive and offer good choice,” he says.
