Universal Constructions wins $12m school contract

Osborne Park-based Universal Constructions has secured further work on the new Yarralinka Primary School in Southern River.

The business was awarded with a $12.15 million contract from the Department of Finance to complete the second lot of works to Yarralinka, which was officially opened in June.

Stage two of the project involves building a covered assembly area, canteen, music room, four general teaching blocks, hard courts, an oval, and additional parking for staff and parents.

The works are expected to be completed before August next year.

Universal was selected ahead of four other contractors, according to Tenders WA.

The company had also completed stage one of the project, which was worth $7.15 million and included the construction of administration, teaching and library blocks.
