TOYOTA has topped the quarterly sales figures for passenger cars in Western Australian for the first time, according to industry statistician VFACTS.
With the launch of the V6 Avalon in July, Toyota gained national passenger car leadership for the first month in its history.
Toyota WA Distributor general manager, Mr Mal Crawford, said the West was leading the way in Toyota’s campaign to win leadership in the Australian passenger vehicle market.
“Toyota has been the overall market leader in Western Australia for eight of the last 10 years and our commercial vehicle leadership dates all the way back to 1979,” he said.
Another strong performance in August and September has increased Toyota’s overall market lead in the state to 1979 units for the year-to-date. Outstanding performers in the Toyota range in WA included the Corolla Sedan and Liftback and the new Avalon large car.
