Torian Resources has extended its Mount Stirling gold system a further 280m southeast beyond the previous resource boundary with mineralisation now intersected over 1,040m along strike. The company has now increased the known gold mineralisation at various prospects across multiple gold domains. The drilling campaign is in full swing and the company says it has negotiated faster turnaround times for new assays.
Torian Resources has extended its Mount Stirling gold system a further 280 metres southeast beyond the previous resource boundary with mineralisation now intersected over 1,040m along strike. The company has now increased the known gold mineralisation at various prospects across multiple gold domains. Its drilling campaign is in full swing and the company says it has negotiated faster turnaround times for new assays.
In fact, assays from the recent Diorite drilling campaign are expected within just two weeks and from the current Mt Stirling campaign, within three weeks – a far cry from the average of 6 weeks being experienced by most in the industry right now.
In the Eastern zone prospect at Mt Stirling, notable shallow gold intercepts include 4m @ 2.33 grams per tonne gold right from surface and 2m @ 1.72 g/t gold from 29m which included a 1m intersection going 2.18 g/t gold from 30m. Two additional noteworthy intersections from the Eastern Zone were 1m @ 1.31 g/t gold from 9m and 1m @ 1.80 g/t gold from 81m.
A further 1m intersection came in at 1.58 g/t gold from 24m down hole.
The current drilling campaigns include the Eastern Zones where 7 holes are planned and four assays have already been returned.
At the Viserion prospect, 15 holes are planned with 9 complete and the Hydra prospect will feel the drill bit for 12 RC holes for 980m of drilling to test gold related arsenic anomalies previously reported. At Diorite East, Kiaora Meteor and 'Unexpected', 10 drill holes for 806m have been completed.
Torian Executive Director Peretz Schapiro said: “The continuous discovery of gold beyond the Mt Stirling resource boundary provides us with further confirmation that we have only just scratched the surface of the Mt Stirling Gold Project."
A total of 18 RC drill holes have been completed for 3,714m with assays returned to date confirming the extension of the Mt Stirling gold system. Notable intercepts include 1m @ 1.06 g/t gold from 26m and 1m @ 0.94 g/t gold from 47m; 1m @ 1.27 g/t gold from 72m; 1m @ 2.27 g/t gold from 230m; 3m @ 0.73 g/t gold from 59m including 1m @ 1.51 g/t gold from 61m.
In addition to the completed assays, multiple anomalous composites preceding final assays have shown hints of gold including a peak result of 4m @ 0.65 g/t gold anomalous composite from 256m.
Torian holds six projects over 400km2 of tenements in the Goldfields region of Western Australia. Its Mount Stirling project consists of 2 blocks. Block one includes the Stirling Block where Torian has JORC compliant resources of 355,000 tonnes at 1.7g/t for a 20,000 ounce indicated resource with 1,695,000 tonnes at 1.5g/t for 82,000 inferred ounces.
The Stirling Well block has an existing resource of 253,500 tonnes at 2.01g/t gold for 16,384 inferred ounces. Block two is the Diorite Block to the south, home of the historic 73g/t Diorite King Mine dating back to 1897.
Torian also participates in joint ventures with Zuleika Gold at the Zuleika project, Bonnie Vale, Gibraltar and Credo Well. Rounding out its stable of runners is Torian’s 10.7 per cent holding in Monger Gold and its 20 per cent free carried Joint Venture interest in Monger's projects.
Torian is hammering away furiously at its gold prospects, gathering assays at pace, extending its resource boundaries with its continuous campaigning while riding hard on the backs of it Joint Venture partners.
Torian's flagship Mt Stirling Project is situated 40km northwest of Leonora and lies adjacent to Red Five's King of the Hills Mine. Recent production from the region has reached 14 million oz of gold from mines like Tower Hills, Sons of Gwalia, Thunderbox, Harbour Lights and Gwalia.
