Atlas Pearls and Perfumes, formerly Atlas South Sea Pearl, has announced the appointment of Coogee Chemicals managing director Tim Martin to its board of directors.
Mr Martin, son of WA business identity Gordon Martin, has 15 years experience in the chemical, manufacturing and property sectors.
Atlas Pearls and Perfumes chairman Stephen Birkbeck said Tim Martin was currently in the US completing studies at Harvard Business School, and would visit with the company’s joint venture partners in New York in coming weeks.
At close of trade today, Atlas Pearls and Perfumes shares were steady at 4.8 cents.
The company re-branded itself as Atlas Pearls and Perfumes last month, to reflect its new focus not only on pearls but also on perfumes and cosmetics.
Atlas Pearls and Perfumes said it would produce a range of fragrance and flavour products through its acquisition of Essential Oils of Tasmania.
The company said the move was made to ensure it was less exposed to future global economic volatility.
