Little Caesars Pizzeria owner and pizza chef Theo Kalogeracos will head to New York later next month to compete in a pizza making competition at the New York Pizza Show.
As part of a four-member Australian team, Mr Kalogeracos will have to impress a panel of professional and celebrity guests to win the competition, called America’s Plate.
Mr Kalogeracos secured his place in the team after winning the 2003 Dairy Farmers Best of the Best National Pizza Champ-ionship.
He won all four pizza categories and the winning pizzas are also favourites with customers at Little Caesars Pizzeria, based in Mundaring.
They include the marguerita, oyster kilpatrick, chicken fettu-ccine pizza and the mud honey dessert pie.
Mr Kalogeracos established Little Caesars Pizzeria eight years ago. The pizzeria even has gluten-free bases that have been recognised by the Coeliac Association of WA. But for those who want pizza with the lot, toppings include Gabriel Karavella goats cheese, Vince Gareffa’s White Rocks veal, and N’Joi olive oil and sardines.
