Goyder already hands-on at Coles It might have looked a bit small town, but when Wesfarmers Ltd boss Richard Goyder talked about how he’d sorted out the management of his local Mosman Park Coles store because he couldn’t find a trolley, you can be sure he was looking at the bigger picture. When Wesfarmers took over Coles it became the biggest private sector employer in the country and inherited a business where the culture was suspect. Supply chain changes and head office costs might affect the bottom line, but changing culture is where Wesfarmers reckons it can really win with Coles. In jokingly suggesting the Claremont store was next because it was closest to finance director Gene Tilbrook, Mr Goyder knew he was speaking to a national audience which was bound to include a lot of supermarket employees. Heritage to be captured on film A NEW partnership between Film & Television Institute WA, ScreenWest and Woodside Petroleum Ltd will give residents living in remote areas of Western Australia the opportunity to experience filmmaking workshops and screenings. The FTI’s Making Movies Roadshow is an annual regional touring program offering digital filmmaking workshops to residents, particularly youth and indigenous people, living in remote communities in regional WA. The program will provide film skills training and education to people living in regional communities, while capturing and sharing the region’s unique stories and culture on film.
