ASX-listed Tambourah Metals has captured 17 priority targets in its battery metals search after a detailed data analysis of the Wongan Hills South project in the Wheatbelt region of Western Australia.
The targets were generated using available geophysics and the project’s database.
The Wongan Hills South, or “WHS” project is part of Tambourah’s larger Julimar North project in what is fast emerging as Australia’s most exciting PGE-nickel-copper-cobalt mineral field only 100 kilometres northeast of Perth.
The emerging region had many a mining tongue wagging back in March of 2020 when ASX-listed Chalice Mining broke the news to the market of its major new greenfield PGE-nickel-copper-cobalt-gold discovery. Since then, explorers have flocked to the region scouring the subsurface for similar success.
In addition to WHS, Tambourah’s overarching package includes a spread of other projects pegging it as the second largest landholder in the region after Chalice.
The WHS project has been divided into the northern and southern areas with the northern area hosting 13 of the magnetic targets and the southern area hosting the remaining four.
Tambourah aims to immediately follow up the targets with ground-truthing and rock chip sampling. Further plans include the design of an electromagnetic ground geophysical survey to follow up on the targets.
The company says permitting and obtaining access agreements with landowners to undertake exploration and drilling has already commenced.
Tambourah Metals Executive Chairperson, Rita Brooks said:

The gold and critical minerals explorer has a well-planned pipeline for the grander Julimar North. The year’s first quarter will see a barrage of geophysical surveys followed by an interpretation and review of the collected data. The second quarter will begin with forming access agreements and end with electromagnetic surveys, drilling agreements and ground sampling.
Explorers are finding themselves shoulder to shoulder in the Wheatbelt’s exciting and emerging mineral district and rightfully so. Given the potential for paydirt things could get interesting for Tambourah and its large holdings in this rapidly developing and increasingly lucrative region.
