Swings and roundabouts at PPR

HOT on the heels of its acquisition of former technological services partner, Chrome Global, the WA arm of public relations firm PPR has had some line-up changes.

The firm has lost five staff members and gained six.

Paul Clothier and Christine Moro left to join PPR competitor Ward Holt.

Wendy Hood left the firm to join the WA Museum and John Cole has headed out to join rural consulting business Business Today.

Rebecca Tempest has chosen to stay within the PPR fold and has left Perth to join its Sydney office.

In return, PPR has gained Janine Carter, Jenny Morris, Peter Herkenhoff, Damien Kamelich, Chauvaune Francis and Jackie Sklenka. Ms Carter joins the firm from Events Corp, where she handled its PR and marketing.

Mr Herkenhoff was formerly with Woodside.

Ms Morris is best known for her star turns in the Olympic Games arena. She is dual gold medal winner and even captained Australia’s champion women’s hockey side, the Hockeyroos.

Both Ms Francis and Ms Sklenka are returning to PPR and will be working in the firm’s dedicated consumer PR arm, dealing with clients such as Retravision, Emirates and the WA Lotteries Commission.

Mr Karmelich is a former Australian Labor Party staffer.

PPR made news for itself when it became part of a syndicate that bought out Chrome Global last year.

Chrome had slipped into voluntary administration in October, citing a downturn in sales and revenues and a projected weak sales cycle.
