Perth-based miner Strike Resources has announced the retirement of its managing director, Ken Hellsten, effective immediately, with non-executive director William Johnson to take the helm as executive director.
Strike said the firm had elected to relocate its key management and technical team to Peru as it shifts its focus towards pursuing approvals and exploration at its Apurimac and Cusco iron ore projects, and that Mr Hellsten and his family were unable to relocate due to personal reasons.
Strike chairman Malcolm Richmond thanked Mr Hellsten for his service and said Mr Johnston's knowledge of Peru made him "the ideal candidate" to lead the company.
Mr Johnson has been a director of the company since 2006 and is also a director of several other listed companies, including Orion Equities Limited.
Shares in Strike Resources were unchanged at 16 cents at 12:15pm WST.
