ONLINE stockbroking firm and provider of complementary financial services, Australian Investment Exchange, formerly known as Sanford Securities, will relocate into the former Hartleys tenancy at 141 St Georges Terrace.
The business will take out the entire floor on level seven – 1833 square metres of office space – in the 19-storey office building and will relocate into the building in early April.
Currently located in 225 St Georges Terrace, Australian Investment Exchange plans to use the move and its new name to reposition itself in the marketplace.
Last year Sanford Securities became part of the IWL group, a professional financial advisory software and research company based in Melbourne.
Australian Investment Exchange executive manager Geoff Riley said since the unification of the two firms there had been moves to push the company in a new direction. Mr Riley said that under its new name Australia Investment Exchange would focus on being a wholesale platform provider and administration outsourcer.
Mr Riley told WA Business News the decision to relocate the company to 141 St Georges Terrace was to enable it to be placed across a single floor plate.
“Strategically one floor plate suits this organisation,” he said.
The company’s space requirements will reduce from 2600sq m over three floors to 1833sq m on one floor. The old Hartleys fit-out was also a significant factor in the decision, with the lease being taken on a walk-in-walk-out basis.
“At the end of the day the decision was based on getting onto one floor and having the ability not to do a new fit-out,” Mr Riley said.
