VILLAGE Life has opened its first retirement development in Mandurah, south of Perth.
Westate Property group managing director and Village Life Western Australia licence holder Peter James said the group planned to build up to 20 villages throughout WA.
“Village Life Mandurah is now 100 per cent occupied and with a waiting list,” Mr James said. “There is great demand for these types of villages and with an ageing population demand will only increase.”
Mr James said the planning stages for Village Life Bunbury and Village Life Armadale were nearly complete, with construction due to commence before the end of the year.
Housing and Works Minister Tom Stephens said the concept was an innovative addition to Mandurah.
