Attorney-General Phillip Ruddock has announced the appointment of Antony Siopis SC as a judge of the Federal Court of Australia.
Mr Siopis has practised at the Western Australian Bar since 1995 in administrative law, banking and finance law, corporation laws, commercial and civil litigation, as well as bankruptcy and insolvency.
Mr Siopis was appointed as lead counsel assisting the Royal Commission into the Finance Broking Industry in 2001. He was appointed senior counsel in September 2002. Mr Siopis will take up his appointment on April 14 2005 and will be based in Perth.
