Satterley Property Group is planning to build up to 420 homes in Forrestfield, after buying the old Western Power site on Hawtin Road from the state government for $30 million.
The sale of the land is part of the state government’s asset sales program, which took another step forward today with progress on the sale of one of the flagship assets on the block, the Utah Point port in Port Hedland.
The $30 million deal was brokered by real estate agency Burgess Rawson.
Housing options flagged to be developed on the 28-hectare site, located at 302-320 Hawtin Road, include single residential lots, terrace housing and grouped dwellings.
Satterley chief executive Nigel Satterley said the group would continue to look at opportunities to expand its land bank in WA.
“This site will become another Satterley masterplanned community providing good quality housing choice for people on all budgets,” he said.
The site is in close proximity to Forrestfield Forum & Marketplace, as well as the proposed $2 billion Forrestfield Airport Link.
Construction of the first stage of the development will commence in the first half of next year.
