SCEE wins $30m in new contracts

Southern Cross Electrical Engineering has announced a number of new awards, led by its East Coast-based subsidiary Heyday.

Southern Cross said the contracts, which combined are worth over $30 million, are across the commercial, telecommunications and resources sectors.

Heyday was awarded works by head contractor Probuild for stage 1 of Frasers Edmondson Square development in south Sydney.

The development incorporates a retail centre with approximately 90 outlets as well as approximately 300 residential apartments.

Heyday’s scope of work includes the supply and installation of electrical, telecommunications, fire, security intercom and CCTV infrastructure.

Heyday won a contract from Hutchinson Builders for the first two stages of the RUData SYD53 Data Centre in western Sydney.

The first two stages comprise the infrastructure and building shell and core works, which include the design coordination of electrical services, coordination with pre-procured equipment suppliers and installation of HV and LV electrical infrastructure systems.

In Western Australia, Datatel, SCEE’s telecommunications-focused subsidiary, was awarded two contracts for equipment upgrades and for minor works on the National Broadband Network.

In the resources sector, SCEE received a number of minor awards from Rio Tinto as it continues to work on their electrical infrastructure replacement programme.

Shares in SCEE closed flat at 54 cents each.
