Qube develops master plan

Two former executive directors of  local property group Clarke & Hawkins Management have split from the business to form  boutique development and investment vehicle Qube Property Group Pty Ltd,  taking more than $1 billion of projects with them.

Qube Property Group Pty Ltd managing director Mark Hector, and acquisitions and marketing director James Collis, were formerly executive directors of Clarke & Hawkins Management and its commercial and residential develop-ment offshoot, Dibstone Group.

The decision to separate from Dibstone was a mutual one, according to Mr Hector, who said Qube and Dibstone would operate as separate entities under Clarke & Hawkins Management.

Dibstone will operate under the sole direction of Ed Eames and Kim Woods, allowing Clarke & Hawkins Management’s Russell Hawkins and Ron Clarke to continue to work on special projects

Qube, meanwhile, will consolidate Clarke & Hawkins’ core residential and industrial land subdivision activities with a number of Dibstone built-form projects.

“Qube Property Group will continue to develop in partnership the two joint projects that began under the Dibstone banner – 1,138 Hay Street in West Perth and Millstream Apartments in South Perth,” Mr Hector said.

Aside from building its property portfolio, the group will also control Qube Project Sales, a part of business it hopes to increase over the coming year, and Qube Capital, a company through which a number of existing and new private investors can contribute to projects.

Qube already has 25 projects under way worth more than $1 billion, and Mr Collis is on the lookout for new development sites.

Before his role at Clarke & Hawkins and Dibstone, Mr Collis was an investment sales adviser with Jones Lang LaSalle.

Residential land estates feature prominently among the group’s current project portfolio. Subdivisions planned during the next four years include: Bennett Springs Estate in Beechboro; Rosehill Park Estate in South Guildford; Serpentine Downs Estate in Serpentine; Mundella Park in Mundijong; Mandogalup (near Atwell); garden estates in Wattleup and Hammond Park; and a 360-lot subdivision in Caversham.

Further South, Qube’s residential projects include The Canals and The Glade estates at Port Geographe in Busselton, Grand Canals estate at Australind, The Bridges mixed-use apartment development in Busselton and resort-style townhouses at Dunsborough Lakes Village, Dunsborough.

In Perth, Mr Hector said the group would look to buy more land on the CBD fringe for commercial and office projects.
