A team from Queensland has taken out the third OzApp awards held in Peth yesterday.
The developers of an app called Ollo Mobile won the top prize which includes a $100,000 convertible note with Qualcom Ventures.
Ollo Mobile is a connectivity app allowing seniors to stay in touch with family members while leading independent lives.
Another Queensland-developed app which allows fashionistas to buy and sell fashion items online, Infitinite Wardrobe, was named runner up while a photography app was named the best pre-revenue app concept.
The only Western Australian-developed app among the five finalists was a development called Triplifier - an event aggregator tool for travellers.
The awards have continued to grow year on year after Silicon Valley venture capitalist first mooted the idea in 2011.
Then the competition was confined to Western Australia but it was expanded to the whole of Australia for the 2012/13 awards and this year South East Asia was included.
The circa 180 submissions for this year’s competition was double the number received last year.
