Upheaval in the commercial property industry is continuing in 2020, with leading asset manager Primewest appointing WA-owned commercial office specialist Sheffield Property to manage a key group of office assets in the city.
The four office assets include the Channel 9 studio and 251, 255 and 267 St Georges Terrace.
The appointment is a significant milestone for locally-owned Sheffield, which launched a property and facilities management division in late 2018 to complement its established office leasing business.
Over this time Sheffield has built its management portfolio including the new Aloft Hotel and adjoining office development in Rivervale, the Quest Hotel in West Perth and 130 Stirling Street in the city.
Joint Managing Director, Digby Sutherland said: ‘’We have worked with Primewest over a number of years on the leasing front and are very pleased they have entrusted us to manage these significant city office properties.
“Our management proposition is to provide our clients with experienced property and facilities personnel, who can provide a personalised and accountable management service knowing they are fully supported by our leasing division, so the whole team has a focus on creating value."
Sheffield has established a strong presence in the Perth office leasing market since its inception in 2007 and last year completed more than 75,000sqm of office lease deals in existing buildings. Sheffield’s office development leasing arm has helped redefine the Perth skyline with more than 100,000sqm of new leases, including three new office towers within the Perth City Link precinct and a 20,000sqm lease to the State Government in the Kings Square development in Fremantle that will be occupied later this year.
Joint Managing Director Mark Clapham said “Our leasing and management business is well suited to institutional and absentee property owners who need to rely on an experienced leadership team to oversee their Perth assets.”
