NEW South Perth cafe-restaurant In Contro has made a bright start to business since reopening its doors a few weeks ago following refurbishments.
Manager Anna Watts said the response from the locals had been terrific.
She said the proof had come from the number of repeat customers the restaurant had already had in its first few weeks of operation.
The cafe-restaurant, formerly known as Plantations estate, is situated on the South Perth Esplanade.
Ms Watts said In Contro specialised in Mediterranean cuisine with an emphasis on Italian.
“We have a really good pizza chef from Rome,” she said.
While the restaurant would still be a good place for a business lunch, Ms Watts said it would target all types of people.
Efforts are already underway towards creating a family-friendly atmosphere for the South Perth eatery.
The team of owners, consisting of Ms Watts, husband Trevor and Charlie Radici, bought the restaurant from Ian Scarla in September.
Ms Watts comes from a broad food background, having been previously involved in a Claremont growers market.
She also had an involvement with Fremantle establishments Benny’s Bar and Pizza Bella Roma.
