PILBARA Mines has purchased the Cadjebut processing plant and 158-man camp from Teck Cominco WA for $1.4 million.
The purchase is expected to reduce the capital required to develop the Jaguar project.
The Cadjebut plant was constructed by BHP to produce lead-zinc concentrates at the rate of 550,000 tonnes a year throughput, until shut down by Western Metals in 2001.
According to the announcement from Pilbara Mines, the processing plant has been well maintained and is complete with grinding, flotation and thickening circuits, spare parts and store, workshops, 5.6 megawatt powerhouse, fuel farm and 50-tonne weighbridge, all of which are directly suitable for the Jaguar processing plant.
