Perth Mint launches bullion program

The Perth Mint has today launched its latest bullion program to an international audience of wholesale and retail distributors.

The program includes the production and sale of silver, gold and platinum bullion coins, including a 2022 year of the tiger gold coin.

Locally designed products include Australian kookaburra and kangaroo minted gold bars, as well as koala silver bullion coins.

The mint is expecting coins produced for the program to sell out following increased demand for silver kookaburra and koala coins during last year’s program.

Mines and Petroleum Minister Bill Johnston said The Perth Mint’s metal coins and minted bars were sought by investors because of their purity, weight and tradability.

“As Western Australia's third-largest exporter, and Australia's largest exporter to Germany, The Perth Mint's bullion program adds value to Australian metals and plays a part in promoting our state to the world,” he said.

The Perth Mint chief executive Richard Hayes said the company would seek opportunities to bring its metals to the world.
