Drumming duo Kaboom Percussion teamed up with events coordinator Ensembly to perform in the basement of CBD coworking space Studio Startup.
Founded by West Australian Symphony Orchestra’s associate principal cellist, Louise McKay, Ensembly connects small audiences with performing musicians in intimate spaces.
Launched last month, Kaboom was one of Ensembly’s earliest acts and Business News photographer Attila Csaszar captured scenes of the exclusive production, sponsored by the City of Perth.
Perth-based freelance percussionists Catherine Betts and Joshua Webster have performed as Kaboom at schools since 2014.
They use a mix of objects and instruments to get creative with sound.
Ensembly plans to link up more audiences with artists through its website, which welcomes applications to host small ensembles in private living rooms or niche sponsored spaces.
