ScreenWest has appointed its inaugural board as an independent not-for-profit organisation, having now completed its transition from a government agency. The inaugural board consists of the existing board of Janelle Marr, Amanda Higgs, Bryce Menzies, Carol Innes, Catherine Ferrari, and Chris Holman; along with three new members. Joining the board are Sally Carbon, John Gardner, and Michael Ottaviano. Ms Carbon is owner and managing director of strategic marketing firm Green Eleven. Mr Gardner is managing director of Citadel-MAGNUS. Mr Ottaviano is managing director of Carnegie Clean Energy.
Ron Adams has retired as managing director of Dardanup-based sawmilling company Wespine Industries after 13 years in the position. The company has appointed Patrick Warrand to fill the vacancy. Mr Warrand was most recently assistant director, industry and business development for the South West Development Commission. He is a former director of Premier Coal.
Wood & Grieve Engineers has appointed two new principals in its Perth office. National marketing manager Shelley Phillipson and senior structural project engineer Alasdair MacKerron have both been promoted to principals of the firm. Ms Phillipson joined the firm in 2013, after previous work as business development and marketing manager for a London-based law firm. Mr MacKerron has been with WGE for two years. He was previously technical director, structures for AECOM.
AMMA has appointed Liana D’Ascanio as a workplace relations consultant. Ms D'Ascanio was previously general manager, employee relations for Programmed Marine. She joined Programmed as inhouse legal counsel in 2012, following eight years with Corrs Chambers Westgarth.
Cannings Purple has appointed Jamie Henderson an associate director, government relations. Mr Henderson has two decades of experience in government relations and was previously chief of staff to the WA minister for regional development and lands.
Asterisk Information Security has appointed Chantal Blais manager, client success and project services. Ms Blais was previously a project manager for TransCanada Pipeline. Asterisk has also appointed Robin Wilson as a security consultant. Mr Wilson has held previous UK-based security roles at Rabobank and Schroders.
Borrello Graham Lawyers has rebranded as LSV Borrello following the appointment of Hendrik Van Aswegen as partner. Mr Van Aswegen joined the firm in 2015 as special counsel after previous work with Hardy Bowen Lawyers (now DLA Piper). Mr Van Aswegen has also taken over as head of the litigation and dispute resolution practice, following the departure of James Graham.
Byfields Business Advisers has appointed Lea Williams a director. Mrs Williams joined Byfields in 2004, later becoming a chartered accountant, and was promoted to associate four years ago. She was a founding member of the Narrogin office when it opened in 2007.
RSM has made six senior appointments in its WA branches. Nadine Marke and Chris Jas from the company’s Perth office have been appointed partners, as has Albany office chief Joanne Gilbert. Matthew Berryman in Merredin, and Jimmy Smit in the Katanning office have both been promoted to principal, business advisory. Justin Audcent has joined the firm as a director, RSM Corporate.
The state government has appointed Donna Oxenham, Scott Henderson, and Linda Wayman to the board of VenuesWest. They replace outgoing members Dean Farmer, Stephanie McManus, and Alex McKenzie. Ms Oxenham is a former national judo champion. Mr Henderson is a former chief executive of Netball WA, Harvey Beef, and Skywest. He currently serves as vice president, corporate services at Edith Cowan University. Ms Wayman resigned as Southern Cross Austereo’s general manager, Perth earlier this year.
