Former Fortescue Metals Group senior operations executive Paul Hallam has been appointed a non-executive director at Gindalbie Metals as the company prepares to commission its flagship Karara iron ore project in WA next year.
In a statement, Gindalbie said Mr Hallam was an accomplished and respected resource industry leader with over 30 years experience working in senior executive positions, including a successful track record developing, leading and turning around organisations.
Mr Hallam was director – operations with FMG from 2008 to 2011, where he led the company’s operational turnaround during the GFC.
Prior to that he was development and projects executive general manager at Newcrest Mining, where he oversaw completion of the Telfer gold mine expansion.
Mr Hallam has also held positions at Alcoa World Alumina, North Limited and Kanowna Belle Gold Mine.
Gindalbie chairman George Jones said he was delighted to have secured someone of Mr Hallam’s experience and calibre to join the company’s board ahead of the commencement and commissioning of operations at the Karara iron ore project next year.
“He bring to Gindalbie recent iron ore experience in leading the stabilisation and expansion of FMG’s Pilbara operations – a role which has earned him appropriate recognition and respect within the industry.”
Gindalbie shares were steady at 48.5 cents at 9.19am WST.
