Established regional law firm Hudson, Henning and Goodman is looking to grow its presence in Perth by establishing an office in Stirling Street.
The modern office will complement the firm’s existing practices in Mount Barker, Denmark and Albany, the later established in 1919.
Partners Simon Creek and Murray Thornhill hope to build on their strong reputation in family law, wills and succession planning and commercial law at the boutique end of the market.
Barrister and solicitor Simon Creek told WA Business News the firm had built solid relationships with Perth clients over the past six years, particularly in the area of family law, and felt a full-time presence in Perth was needed.
Mr Creek said the firm was fortunate to have a rich history in assisting numerous families in the Great Southern region in matters of estate succession and commercial law.
He moved to Albany six years ago to continue the tradition but has always retained a city presence.
“Murray and I both have backgrounds in national blue-chip firms and moved to Albany to enjoy the lifestyle it affords,” Mr Creek said.
The two men, together with their team of 26 solicitors, have been commuting regularly to Perth from the country.
The firm will be firmly entrenched in the Perth scene, with Mr Creek, counsel Siobhan Vincent, Marsha Dale and Melissa Losinski making up the core team.
Mr Creek acknowledged the perception of the firm may change in the eyes of country people but said the practice would continue offering personalised service.
