FORMER opposition leader Paul Omodei announced his immediate resignation from the state Liberal Party last week. Although preselected for the South West Legislative Council region, a state conference in May lowered Mr Omodei to fourth place, and he subsequently announced his intention to resign from the party. Mr Omodei said he had intended to sit out the rest of his term, but now felt he had to resign immediately.
