THE founder of animal drug company Chemeq Ltd, Dr Graham Melrose, has retired as a non-executive director. Dr Melrose had been involved with Chemeq since it was founded in 1989. “I believe Chemeq has a world-class product with enormous market potential at a time when the world is becoming increasingly concerned with the spread of antibiotic resistant super-bugs,” Dr Melrose said. “I continue to believe in the long-term potential of Chemeq and I will be following the company’s fortunes with interest in the future.” Chemeq has had a tumultuous past two years, lurching through a series of bad news events which initially attracted the ire of investors and later caught the eye of regulators.
