SENIOR Western Australian barristers, Gail Archer and Ken Martin (pictured) have been appointed to the Corruption and Crime Commission and its overseeing body, the Parliamentary Inspector, respectively. Mr Martin will act as a substitute parliamentary inspector on demand, while Ms Archer will act as the CCC commissioner on demand. Mr Martin has held senior positions with the Law Society of Western Australia, the Legal Practice Board, the Western Australian Bar Association and the Law Council of Australia. Ms Archer has worked for the Crown Solicitor’s Office, the Director of Public Prosecutions’ Office and as Principal Counsel for Legal Aid WA, and has held senior positions with the Legal Practice Board, and sits on committees of the Law Society of Western Australia and the Law Council of Australia. Ms Archer also recently completed the statutory review of the CCC legislation.
