Edith Cowan University chancellor Hendy Cowan (above) has been appointed by the West Coast Eagles to head an independent investigation into the club, following the announcement of a separate investigation by the AFL. The former Western Australian deputy premier will co-chair the inquiry with KPMG chairman of partners, Steve Scudamore. Recently appointed Eagles chairman Mark Barnaba said last week the club intended to co-operate fully with the AFL’s investigation, which will be headed by a retired Victorian High Court judge.
