THE rapid growth in DMR Consulting’s web solutions team has prompted the international IT consulting firm to move into bigger premises.
Officially opened this week, the new offices (taking up the entire 15th floor of Parmelia House) accommodate an additional 31 people, who have been employed by DMR Consulting in the past 12 months. About half of that number is based in the web solutions team.
DMR Consulting State manager Frank Early said the Perth web solutions team had become the specialist group for the company’s Asia Pacific operations two years ago and had since experienced strong growth in markets offshore and across Australia.
“We have secured a number of contracts on the east coast. One large one is the BHP Steel contract, the first phase of that has just been completed. The team here worked on that,” he said.
Mr Early said DMR Consulting won a contract with the Pennsylvania Police in the US earlier this year that was worth more than $1 million.
“There will be more web work in Perth this year and next year I see growth here; I wouldn’t be surprised if growth doubles,” he said.
DMR Consulting web solutions manager Gene Echols said growth in the web arena was not industry specific, citing the resource sector, finance sector, justice agencies and government work as areas where web solutions work was expanding.
He said many organisations were coming to the end of a two-year strategic plan and were embarking on new web solutions contracts.
“There is some integration work but I also think there is new applications growth,” Mr Echols said.
“Organisations are getting rid of the legacy applications that have been around a while but perhaps don’t offer the best efficiencies.
“As organisations rely on the web browser interface the more you see that organisations are delivering new applications.
“It’s not e-commerce but organisations maturing to develop security, speed, and integration.”
DMR Consulting was formerly located at 12 St Georges Terrace.
